West Virginia institutional furniture planning should begin with the usable room and storage locations, not spare corridor space. For unusually large shipments, the transport check must also use the actual load and route because a previous permit does not automatically describe the next delivery.
Keep school storage and overflow seating out of the corridor plan
The West Virginia State Fire Marshal's guidance for school principals says furnishings and storage must not obstruct exits or their visibility. Its furnishings section distinguishes permitted metal lockers from open coat racks in corridors and states that corridors and stairs are not instructional or storage areas. Bring the applicable school layout to the fire official before treating an unused hallway as a place for new storage or breakout furniture.
Inventory the chairs, tables, coat storage and teaching materials that need a permanent home inside the appropriate rooms. Show spare furniture in the plan as well as the pieces used every day. If new classroom seating displaces a cabinet, identify its new location before placing the order. For occasional school events, give setup staff a room-specific storage and reset sheet so temporary furniture does not accumulate near doors after the activity finishes.

Use the actual load when a hauling permit is needed
WVDOH's hauling-permit FAQ explains that bridge and clearance analysis for permitted movements is carried out for the individual trip application. It says that repeat applications depend on matching details such as direction, dimensions, gross weight and axle configuration. This matters for oversized casegoods or an unusual furniture transport arrangement; it does not mean every ordinary furniture delivery needs a permit.
Give the carrier the final packed dimensions and ask it to determine the lawful vehicle and route. If the shipment or truck changes, have it review the change before relying on an earlier approval. For a weekend installation, make the proposed travel timing explicit, because the FAQ says weekend permit travel must be requested and evaluated. Keep the facility's delivery entrance and receiving window in the transport brief so the approved road movement also connects to a workable unloading plan.
